Why Mainstream Medicine Has Failed You
Fibromyalgia – The Disease Doctors
Can’t Seem To Comprehend
At the Women’s Health Institute of Texas, before coming to us our average FMS patient has been to 20 (or more!) of these doctors:
- Their primary care physician,
- Internal medicine practitioner,
- Neurologist,
- Physical medicine specialist,
- Pain specialist,
- Chiropractor,
- Massage therapist,
- Homeopathic doctor and nutritionist …
just to name a few.
The question we invariably get asked is this:
“Why can’t any of my doctors cure me?”
One of the main reasons is that no one knows what FMS really is. This disease has so many symptoms and debilitating effects, it’s like trying to pin down mercury with a fork. Every time you make a jab at one symptom, another is already flowing into the picture.
Mainstream medicine has been further influenced (or better said, blinded) by the big drug companies into believing FMS is just another “hysterical” women’s disease – one treatable by simply prescribing anti-depressants. Of course, since the drug companies are the ones making those anti-depressants, they stand to cash in on every pill sold.
Then Pfizer decided that doctors should recognize FMS as a real disease. Not because of a sudden awakening of altruism, but to push their anti-seizure medication, Lyrica.
The American College of Rheumatology didn’t even recognize FMS as a “real” disease until the 1990’s. Many of my mainstream medical colleagues still don’t believe that FMS is a true disease. When patients complain of the classic fibromyalgia symptoms, their doctors whip out the prescription pad and write whatever anti-depressant medication Big Pharma has sold them on.
Natural medicine providers probably do a better job with FMS than medical doctors. The medical physicians specializing in bio-identical hormones got real close in effecting long term relief with natural bio-identical hormone therapy.
In fact, that was my experience up until last year. We supplemented with bio-identical hormones, thyroid and adrenal hormones and got better than average results.
Then we started to correct the worldwide nutritional deficiencies almost everyone now has: Vitamin D, iodine, magnesium and fish oil (Essential Fatty Acids), and got even better results.
Then we were introduced to enzymes and proteases… and saw the holy grail.
We can’t as yet claim to have cured FMS, but with the addition of enzymes and, especially, proteases, we’re closer than ever. No absolute cures yet, but our patients are almost back to leading normal lifestyles.
With an 80 - 90% improvement in their many symptoms and ailments, women who were previously nearly disabled have taken these new treatments as a godsend - and are very, very happy with the results.
So why have your previous doctors failed? Simply put, they’re stuck with outdated preconceptions about health and wellness. In fact, one really can’t call them health care professionals – they’re more disease management technicians.
Mainstream medicine doesn’t even recognize the difference between synthetic and bio-identical hormones yet. They mostly never heard of enzymes or proteases therapies, and they even refuse to acknowledge the presence of yeast in the gut.
Your primary care doctor has a long way to go. Just remember that in your next encounter as he (or she) is writing out another script for an anti-depressant, implying to you “that it’s all in your head.”
Well, it isn’t all in your head. It’s in your body. And with our leading edge FMS treatments, we have the success rate to prove it.
